Galaxypaw kept thinking about how to pull ahead of Bloodpaw his mind racing with possible strategies and possible ways to make it to the camp. Without getting hurt or hurting any of the clan members in the process. Not far now. He thought letting out a quiet mew and stopping abruptly digging his back claws into the ground beneath him and launching himself ahead of Bloodpaw slightly then pulling back beside his older opponent.

'Neither of us are going to win at this rate.' Bloodpaw thought, digging his claws into the dirt for one last boost of momentum. It failed, leaving him still beside Galaxypaw, and he saw the edge of the camp, made in an area where the land looked like it had been scooped out, almost directly in front of him. 'Now or never.' His leaf green eyes narrowed in determination as he felt the slope in the land.

Galaxypaw looked over and Bloodpaw and when he looked back he was already at the slope and he lost his footing. Galaxypaw tripped on the slope and began to role down the hill. Bouncing and trying to regain his footing but losing it again and toppling over again. Galaxypaw came to a stop at the bottom of the slope in the camp. He glanced around for Bloodpaw to see if he had won or not. That was cat-like... He thought shaking to get the dirt off. Then sitting to begin to clean himself with his coarse tongue.

Bloodpaw smirked, shaking his head. He was sitting in the middle of the camp, thankful that none of his Clanmates had been in the way when he and Galaxypaw had barrelled into camp. Though, he had had to swerve to miss the nursery, which would have been very bad to run into. "Nice try, need to work on your footing there." he purred, licking his chestfur to smooth it. "You almost beat me there." he added reassuringly. 'Where's his mentor, they'd be really proud to know how well he did.' Bloodpaw thought, looking around camp, trying to remember who Galaxypaw's mentor was.
(Do you want me to make a mentor for you? I was gonna make another NightClan cat anyways.)

Galaxypaw looked up at Bloodpaw and twitched his ears. "Wasn't expecting the slope that soon..." Galaxypaw muttered, shaking his head. He took a few steps toward Bloodpaw and mewed quietly. He was amazed at how he almost beat Bloodpaw he just couldn't get ahead of him. "I probably wouldn't have beat you anyway you're older than I am and stronger..." He said, attempting a compliment. Galaxypaw heaved a sigh and took deep breaths. Wow, that was some harsh running I just did... I should run more often to build up my stamina. He thought heaving another sigh.

Bloodpaw gave a mrrw of laughter. "Yeah, but you're smaller and more flexible. You'll be able to beat me one day. Just work on your footing a little bit and you're golden. Besides, you'll get stronger too." he advised. He got to his paws and padded over to the fresh-kill pile, picking out a plump vole. "Want to share?" he asked, setting the vole in front of Galaxypaw. It would save more fresh-kill for the other cats and still fill up the two apprentices, so a win-win situarion.

Galaxypaw purred his amusement at Bloodpaw and accepted the compliment. "I might, if I try harder." He replied quietly, watching Bloodpaw take out a vole and bringing it back over. Galaxypaw gave a cat-like smiled and nodded his black head leaning forward and biting the vole and tearing it slightly. Galaxypaw sat back and chewed the bit he had taken off and swallowed. Galaxypaw wasn't incredibly hungry so that bite satisfied him. "That tasted pretty good." The young cat said after a few minutes.

Bloodpaw nodded, taking a bite of the vole. He swallowed, finishing thew fresh-kill in a few hungry bites. "Well, I'd have to agree that it was good." he mewed, wrapping his tail neatly over his black paws. "You tried, and that's what counts. You did the right thing when you got back to your paws after falling, it shows that you're willing to keep trying. Next time you fall, remember that you only fail when you don't try to get back up." Bloodpaw got to his paws and tapped Galaxypaw on the nose with his tail tip. "I'm going to go get some shut eye, I have dusk patrol tonight with my mentor." he informed the young apprentice, padding over to the apprentices' den for some sleep.

Galaxypaw sat tail flicking behind him taking in everything that Bloodpaw was saying. Taking in every little detail and keeping it in his mind so he could look back at it later in life. Galaxypaw watched as Bloodpaw walked off and he stood up on his paws and quietly padded over to a small area and sat doing pretty much nothing.

Slatepool padded over to Galaxypaw, a curious look in his dark amber eyes looking at his apprentice. "And what're you doing?" he asked, sitting in front of the small black and white tom. "That was quite a tumble there, are you sure you're alright?" he asked calmly, a symathetic look on his face after seeing the apprentice fall down the hill in what he guessed was a race. It made him proud that Galaxypaw had almost won, especially against an older apprentice.

Galaxypaw looked up at his mentor and narrowed his eyes. "I'm fine..." He purred, looking away. "Bloodpaw and me just had a race and I screwed up my steps and fell down the slope... I'm glad I didn't run into anyone." Galaxypaw stood up and circled around Slatepool. "How have you been?" Galaxypaw asked politly, coming to a stop in front of his mentor.

"I've been fine, I had patrol. I believe I sent you hunting, catch anything?" Slatepool asked kindly, flicking his ear slightly as the wind ruffled his fur the wrong way. Galaxypaw's an interesting apprentice, quick to learn. Kinda like me. he added, looking at how much the apprentice had learned in the one moon he'd been an apprentice. "Tomorrow I don't have any patrols, would you like me to teach you some fighting skills?" he asked quickly, the though just now popping into his head.

Galaxypaw nodded at the question if he caught anything. "Two mice, one for the sake of me gaining some respect." He twitched his tail and felt the cool breeze flowing through his fur. I had to catch one to show I'm not messing around when I hunt! Galaxypaw thought harshly before clicking into what Slatepool was saying now. Fighting skills! He thought hearing the last of what his mentor had said. "Yeah! I need to learn those pretty soon! Mya!" He mewed ecstatically.

"Respect, huh? I know what you mean there." Slatepool thought, remembering when he became a warrior when he had been the youngest of all the apprentices at the time. "What, expecting CloudClan to attack or something? Well, alright then. Dawn tomorrow, meet me at the training grounds and I'll teach you some fighting skills." Slatepool purred, seeing how exstatic Galaxypaw was to learn how to fight. He knew that Galaxypaw hadn't sat at the training grounds when he was a kit, so he would have no idea what was coming at him, but he'd soon become a great fighter. "Why don't you go get some rest, so you won't be asleep on your paws tomorrow."

Galaxypaw stood up purring happily. Dawn tomorrow. Oh yeah! I'm gonna learn how to fight! Galaxypaw thought, while beginning to head over to the apprentices den to get a long nap in. He stopped quickly and looked over his shoulder at Slatepool. "See ya tomorrow!" He mewed, looking back ahead and going inside the den. Early tomorrow! He thought curling up and falling asleep.
